Blackbear On New EP, Mental Health & Fatherhood

Like many of us, blackbear spent the seamless string of early pandemic-filled months holed up indoors, battling the feelings of isolation and anxiety brought on COVID-19. Unlike many of his fans, though, the Los Angeles-based artist, singer and hit songwriter emerged from last year's quarantine period with two new projects: his fifth studio album everything means nothing and new EP misery lake, which he's releasing tomorrow, August 13.

T-Pain is ready for the next phase in his career that includes podcasting, gaming and tacos. The hip hop mainstay and auto-tune pioneer recently partnered with Moe’s Southwest Grill to unveil his own limited-edition menu item, the Frank’s RedHot Buffalo Queso Taco. The taco, which combines Moe’s signature buffalo queso and Frank’s RedHot sauce, will be available in-store and online through September 5. “... I put Frank’s [RedHot] on everything, and mix that with [Moe’s] queso and a hard shell and soft shell taco – that’s a winning combination right there,” he told REVOLT.

At 25 years old and arguably hitting his stride in his almost-decade-long career, G Herbo looks at his life with gratitude and pride. In the past year, the Chicago native celebrated his silver birthday, became engaged to Taina Williams, welcomed his second son and recently released his fourth studio album, 25. However, speaking by phone with GRAMMY.com one day before the project's release, Herbo reflected on a time in his life when that wasn't the case. "I wouldn't say I didn't appreciate life, but I wasn't afraid to die," he said of growing up in Chicago's Terror Town neighborhood. "It's crazy, but when I turned 25… I just appreciated life a lot more."
